I want to 'rename' a link I am sending by e-mail so that the person sees something like 'click here' instead of the web address. I've googled this a lot of people have asked this but none of the answers work. There is an option to edit a link if you right click it but if I change anything in the address the OK button on the window goes dead.
A common issue with Apple's Mail app is that it sometimes does not sync folders from the mail server to the same folders in the Mail app on your computer. If you find folders such as Drafts, Sent, Junk, or Trash are not syncing email as it appears in webmail, follow these steps to correct the issue. When you click a link for an email address, your Mac opens the app you’ve set for that kind of link. Mail is the default email app, and it works just fine for me. However, if you install other email apps, you might want to set them to open when you click an email link or web link. To set a default email app: Open the Mail app. Most word processors use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on Mac) to insert a hyperlink into a text, but even though the shortcut exists in Google Docs, it never worked in Gmail.

- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click General.
- Choose a web browser from the ”Default web browser” menu.
How to change your default email app
- Make sure that the other email app is installed. Although you might be able to use a web browser for email (webmail), a web browser isn't an email app.
- Open the Mail app.
- Choose Mail > Preferences, then click General.
- Choose an email app from the ”Default email reader” menu.
You might be prompted to add an email account before you can change the setting in Mail. If you don't want to do that, check the preferences of the other email app. You might be able to set a default email app from there.
